Norskskolen is offered to children who lives outside Norway and wants to maintain the Norwegian language skills. The sessions are tailored to each individual students needs according to their level.

Curriculum

Tailored to each child based on age and level. The younger kids may need more play time and speaking practise. The older kids may benefit from spelling exercises and increasing their vocabulary.

Feedback

We believe continues feedback is a key to guide and support the child in evolving. That's why we have a strong focus on assessments throughout the child's learning journey.

How

The 1st Saturday in each month the kids can meet up at Norwegian Seamen's Church for activities*

*as long as current regulations allows it and the church is open
  • Start the subscription whenever you want, and cancel whenever you want
  • Sessions will be planned and agreed between the tutor and the parents
  • Our tutors are fluent in Norwegian and have extensive childcare experience
  • Supplementing the home tutoring, we propose specific apps. Costs of apps are not included in the monthly subscription.
  • You will have the opportunity to contact other parents for playdates and excursions within the community. 
We are very happy to have found Norskskolen. Our 5 year old daughter finally has an opportunity to learn about the Norwegian language and culture in a friendly environment with great teachers. Highly recommended to anyone who are living abroad and need to maintain a connection to Norway.

Meet the Tutor

Kristina Åbø

Hi! I'm Kristina, and I am tutor at Norskskolen. I was born in Norway, lived in Singapore for 7 years, and have spent the past 4 years living in the UK. I hold a master's degree in Human Rights, and have experience within the Child Care sector. I look forward to a fun course ahead!

Kristina has been with us since August 2021 and are currently teaching children Norwegian online. Earlier she's been part in building up a school for disadvantaged children in Cambodia.
