Borderless Art Exhibitions Showcasing Global Creativity
Redefining Boundaries Through Creativity
Inside the Borderless Exhibition
Welcome to the Borderless Exhibition – a pioneering initiative by the Norwegian Cultural Center that redefines the way art is experienced and shared across the world. At its core, Borderless breaks down geographic and cultural boundaries by showcasing digital artworks simultaneously in two physical gallery spaces located in different cities. This innovative model allows artists to exhibit their work on a global stage, reaching audiences far beyond their local communities.
Complementing the physical exhibitions is an immersive 3D virtual gallery, open to viewers from anywhere in the world. This digital space offers a dynamic, interactive experience that brings together art lovers, collectors, and creators in one shared environment. On this page, you’ll learn more about how the exhibition works, explore its international impact, and discover how you can become part of this growing global movement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you not following the usual "free exhibition" and "commission-based" model?
Borderless is veering away from the traditional model. Because there are artists who prefer to create works at their pace, have 100% of their sales, and co-exhibit with others.
Some artists would like to prioritise showcasing their artworks more than making a sale.
Moreover, our hybrid setup benefits artists overall in building an audience and expanding their artistic network.
We understand that this model may not be for everyone. But there are others who would like to go the unconventional route, and we would like to cater to them.
Regardless of one’s motivation in joining Borderless, the model ensures that the artists are well taken care of.
I don't believe in this exhibition model. Your exhibition will not focus on making sales because you already got paid
We value your opinion but we would like to disagree with this statement.
We want our exhibitors to be happy, and we know making a sale is one of the things we have to do. Also, like any other business or organization, we put our people first and at the center of our cause. If our people are not happy, they won’t come back and work with us again. That sounds like a bad business, right? But of course, making a sale is an incredible bonus for the artist, that’s why we are also working hard for that.
The minimal fee we are charging is peanuts compared to the marketing and logistical costs they will have to cover if they do it independently.
We will provide intensive marketing coverage and invite and gather a diverse network in both locations we are exhibiting. And most importantly, the internal programs include a social night and learning talks focusing on our exhibiting artists.
The traditional model is better?
The art gallery may not accept your artwork. They may like it but decide it will not sell.
Some art galleries may want to have some say in the creative process. They may tell you to paint this style or these colors as they know they will sell.
The Art Galleries will usually set the price for the art and what they feel the market can bear. The truth is that by working with an art gallery you are handing the control for the sale of your artwork over to them. You may not have much control over this and you may feel they either under or overprice your work.
The artist must be able to produce so many works of art over a certain period of time. They may restrict where and how the artist can sell their other work or if the work can only be sold through their art gallery.
They may call you a month or so later and tell you to come to pick up your paintings as they did not sell and they do not want them in their gallery.
How is Borderless exhibition marketed?
Borderless is a hybrid international art exhibition that gives artists worldwide the opportunity to showcase their work in both physical galleries and an interactive 3D virtual space—without paying commissions on sales.
Any opportunity for a discounted entrance fee?
We have a 10% discount option for artists who already participated in previous BORDERLESS exhibitions.
We also have an Early Bird 20% off offer.
We could consider to give 10% discount for artists with significant audience (> 10K followers) for promotion post.
How is Borderless exhibition presenting the artworks?
In physical galleries artworks are presented on LED screens. Each artwork has a QR code which leads to a corresponding slot in the 3D gallery with all provided information about the artwork and the artist.
Physical galleries are working for 4 days and accessible in two dedicated cities. Online 3D gallery is working for 30 days and accessible to anyone in the world. Both physical and 3D galleries have free entrance!
If the works are displayed digitally how are they are sold?
During the Borderless Exhibition, each artwork in the physical galleries is linked with a QR code. This code provides a direct pathway to the 3D gallery where all artwork details are presented.
For NFT, there’s a ‘Purchase’ button linking to the marketplace.
Physical artworks feature an ‘Inquire’ button linking to the artist’s direct contact.
All sales are conducted directly between the artist and the buyer, ensuring 100% profit for the artist.
How many artworks got sold?
While we don’t oversee the sales process, allowing artists to retain 100% of their sales, we aren’t always updated on exact figures.
However, we genuinely appreciate it if artists share their sales updates with us.
Moreover, we’ve noticed a continued interest with artwork inquiries even months post-exhibition
Can I submit a video?
Yes, you can.
We are open for all types of visual art

Do I have to ship my artwork?
No, you don’t have to ship your artwork. At Borderless, we utilize a digital format for both offline and online galleries. All we require is a digital picture of your artwork. This not only simplifies the process but also eliminates the risks and costs associated with shipping, ensuring your art remains pristine.
Does my artwork have to be NFT?
No, your artwork does not have to be an NFT.
At Borderless, we are inclusive of all types of visual art. All we require is a digital picture of your artwork to exhibit it seamlessly.
In what format/quality should I upload my artwork?
Please submit the picture of your artwork in a resolution optimized for 9:16 format HD displays.
It should be suitable for 50-inch TV screens to ensure premium clarity in both physical galleries and online 3D gallery with a zoom function.
Which artwork should I choose to exhibit?
For your exhibition piece, the choice is yours. Ensure it aligns with the theme and explain your rationale during the application process. If undecided, feel free to submit multiple options with write-ups, and our curator can assist in making the final decision.
Will there be an exhibition opening and do I have to come?
We always host simultaneous opening ceremonies in our physical galleries, graced by special guests and media. The event features welcome drinks, DJs, and is broadcasted LIVE.
While your presence isn’t mandatory, we would be honored to have artists attend.
If you’re local to where Borderless is showcased, it’s a splendid opportunity to connect in person.
For those from afar, consider our Elite Exhibition package — a fully organized tour to the exhibition, elevating the entire experience.
Why do I have to pay the application fee, and what does it cover?
The application fee for Borderless is in place because we offer artists a unique showcasing opportunity across two physical galleries in bustling cities, as well as an accessible online 3D gallery available to a global audience. Additionally, we provide extensive networking opportunities through our comprehensive daily programs. Since we don’t take any commission from sales, the fee is essential to support our marketing and organizational efforts.
Is the 10% previous exhibitor discount valid for one work only, or for each work I submit?
If I decide to submit a video, will it be possible for it to have sound?
Absolutely, sound is welcomed for video submissions.
In our 3D gallery, the sound option is already integrated.
For physical galleries, we can add a note on the video frame and set up loudspeakers, ensuring spectators receive the full auditory experience.
Which methods of payment do you accept?
For payments, we accept cards, PayPal, cryptocurrency, and bank transfers.
Borders? I have never seen one. But I have heard they exist in the minds of some people.
